To remind you, Mel has many books to come out yet!

Finally - WoEE premiere date; and others

Time has come. Everyone, it's time to celebrate. Witches of East End will premiere on... **suspence**... Sunday, October 6, at 10:00pm ET/PT on Lifetime. I can't believe it. It is REAL now. The show is coming, and a lot of people are getting excited for it. It even trended on Twitter!!!

Second good news. The official synopsys is now released - check this out:

"Inspired by Melissa de la Cruz’s New York Times best-selling novel, Witches of East End centers on the mysterious Beauchamp family: free-spirited artist Joanna (Ormond) and her two grown daughters, wild-child bartender Freya (Dewan Tatum) and shy librarian Ingrid (Boston), both of whom are unaware that they are gifted (and cursed) with a magical birthright.  Freya is recently engaged to the man of her dreams, wealthy playboy Dash Gardiner (Winter), but when she finds herself inexplicably drawn to Dash’s troubled, enigmatic brother Killian (DiTomasso), bizarre occurrences begin to manifest in her life.  Meanwhile, Joanna’s long-estra…

Casting updates

Soooooo! Casting has been shifting much lately. Sounds like the show is really coming then, with a bunch of pretty-awesomely great actors! Actually, the cast is having read-through before filming.

  • First but not least, let's recall that Eric Winter joined the cast as Dash Gardiner, Freya's fiancé, replacing the Gossip Girl actor Patrick Heusinger.
  • Then, Jason George, who you may know from Grey's Anatomy and from Eastwick (he was playing Joanna's mysterious and kinda freaky love interest), is replacing Nicholas Gonzalez in the role of the detective Matt, who BTW was renamed to Adam for the show.
  • And finally, and this time it is fresh news, Glenne Headly who was formerly holding Penelope's role (Dash and Killian's mother) is being replaced by Sideways actress Virginia Madsen. Well... She looks quite young and less... motherly? but who knows, she might turn out being the beautiful, immortal and nice kind of mother, right?

Taking a general look at the cast, we have really a pretty kickass one, with big …

Eric Winter joins in!

Yes, indeed, you heard right. Eric Winter (Mentalist, Brothers & Sisters) is now bound to be our new Dash Gardiner! The handsome actor just joined the Witches of East End family as a replacement to Patrick Heusinger, who left the role a few weeks ago. So, what do you think? Will he be good as Freya's fiancé? I do think he goes along with Jenna Dewan perfectly, physically speaking.

Concerning the already filmed pilot, there are still no news about its future. (Will he be refilmed entirely, or will they only film new scenes?)

Breaking news!

Breaking news! - the role of Dash Gardiner, formerly held by Patrick Heusinger, is being recasted!

According to TVLine (‘Witches of East End’ Cast: Patrick Heusinger Replaced as Dash - TVLine), the Gossip Girl and Royal Pains actor has exited the Witches of East End series, for unknown reasons as of today. It is the second actor whose role has been recasted or cut down - the first was Nicholas Gonzalez's role as Detective Matt Torcoletti!

For the moment, the fate of the already-filmed pilot is unknown; but it is likely that production will either reshoot the scenes where both actors were in, or will completely film again the whole pilot (but both solutions cause troubles in terms of filming location).

WoEE at the A+E Networks 2013 Upfront

On May 8, 2013, a part of the "Witches of East End" cast was present in New York City, at the A+E Networks Upfront, for an exclusive presentation to the press (photos below). But the best part is, rumour has it an official trailer is coming soon. So, are you all ready for it? ;)

On the photos, you can recognize Julia Ormond and Rachel Boston, playing respectively Joanna and Ingrid Beauchamp. As well present, Madchen Amick and Daniel DiTomasso playing Wendy (Joanna's sister) and Killian Gardiner.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Freya) must have been too busy in London, don't forget she's expecting her first child! ;)

Let your happiness out people! The cover for the third novel in the Beauchamp Family series, which is called Winds of Salem, has just been revealed. AND IT LOOKS GORGEOUS. Right?

After red and green tones for the first two novels, now time for blue/purple tones. Which is quite awesome. Yeah, I know. You're thinking exactly the same way. Anyway, no more talking, have a look:

So, what do you think of it?

The bad news (yes there is one) is that the publication date was pushed back to August, instead of June.**

WoEE: filming in Summer.

Hi everyone! Been a while since there hadn't been any news from the show. But I've two breaking news for all of you.

  • First, the filming date - as said on Rachel Boston's official twitter (@RachelBoston) - will be Summer. Easier because of weather conditions, but also for Jenna Dewan (Freya) who is pregnant at the moment. The show will air Fall 2013 on Lifetime.
  • Nicholas Gonzalez (Matt Torcoletti) has been kicked out of the show one day after the pick-up announcement (rude!). As mentionned on his twitter account, the network is looking for a white man. No indications on the future of his role are clear: Will his appearance be deleted from the pilot? Will they cut out the character and invent a new one? No answers yet.

Official synopsis for Frozen

Hello everyone! The official synopsis for Melissa de la Cruz's brand new dystopian/fantasy series has just come out; and it looks pretty awesome!

Here it is: From New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston comes this remarkable first book in a spellbinding new series about the dawn of a new kind of magic.

Welcome to New Vegas, a city once covered in bling, now blanketed in ice. Like much of the destroyed planet, the place knows only one temperature—freezing. But some things never change. The diamond in the ice desert is still a 24-hour hedonistic playground and nothing keeps the crowds away from the casino floors, never mind the rumors about sinister sorcery in its shadows.

At the heart of this city is Natasha Kestal, a young blackjack dealer looking for a way out. Like many, she’s heard of a mythical land simply called “the Blue.” They say it’s a paradise, where the sun still shines and the waters are turquoise. More importantly, it’s a place where Nat won’t …

Update on Lifetime's 2013 schedule

Hi Blue Bloods and Witches' fans! As you may have heard, Witches of East End has been optioned as a pilot for cable-network Lifetime ; the pilot is now fully shot and just awaits for a general decision from the network executives.

When 2013 began, Lifetime had three prepared pilots (Witches of East End, Cinnamon Girls and The Secret Lives of Wives), one other still in casting period called HR, and a backdoor pilot for a movie/series called Stalkers. Stalkers was however sure to premiere in spring.

As well on his schedule for 2013, Lifetime had the seventh season for Army Wives, the second season of The Client List and Devious Maids, a brand-new series formerly developped for ABC as a Desperate Housewives spin-off.

Therefore, the network had three possible options to replace Drop Dead Diva, cancelled after its fourth season - and while it was announced that The Secret Lives of Witches pilot was scrapped, it only left two possibilities. So, of Witches of East End or Cinnamon Girls, which will be given the …

Jenna Dewan pregnant

Rumor had it since Sunday's VH1 DIVA that Jenna Dewan-Tatum, spouse of famous actor Channing Tatum, was pregnant. And today, rumors were confirmed

However, this happy news lead to sad consequences for Lifetime's pilot, Witches of East End. Will this pregnancy affect and delay the filming of WoEE? Will the pilot be re-shot with a replacement for Dewan? Or will the project be simply dropped?

News to come sooner or later! Let's keep our finger crossed!
