Emily Foster is an artist from the little town of North Hampton. She first required Ingrid Beauchamp's help, having heard about her "magic knots", to overcome a lack of inspiration, which worked. She later asked for help about her boyfriend Lionel, who got hit by the explosion caused by Bran Gardiner. Joanna tried to save him, but the "poison" made her magic went wrong, and the Beauchamp ladies had to send him back to Helda.
